Elle (2016)

The Golden Globe award should have been awarded to Huppert years ago as this film, although a little more than shocking in its plot line, is tame in comparison to Isabelle’s standard fare. She nevertheless is brilliant, as always, and dares us to explore the dichotomy of our conscious and subconscious as we explore our own selves through the eyes of her complex and evolved character.
